The node: what it is for, why to create it, and how to create it on CREDITS’ protocol?

Decentralized systems like blockchains depend on nodes to be run by the network participants. Nodes administer access to the network and secure its existence by maintaining copies of the database and verifying data (transactions and blocks) on it according to a set of rules.

Incentives to run a node differ on every blockchain protocol. What are the critical reasons for anyone to run a node?

Why create a node?

  • To support blockchain, to ensure that data is correct and not subject to change

  • To earn - each node holder receives a reward in the form of a commission from transactions, depending on participation in the consensus.

This profit is calculated on the basis of 2 factors: how actively your node is engaged in the consensus, and what is the total commission pool in the CREDITS’ network.

  • To build your own project/application on CREDITS’ open source blockchain. In case you do not want to use CREDITS’ ecosystem products for connecting to the blockchain (such as REST API), then you have got an option to place your own nodes and perform operations directly, which is much safer and faster.

How to set a node?

The process of installing a node is very easy, and you do not need to have any technical background to do this. All you have to do is to follow the step by step instruction of our manual

Benefits?

Besides to the described above system of rewards, CREDITS has launched an additional motivation program for node holders, and you can study it here.

We hope you’ll find this short note useful, we inserted all the manuals required for the node creation and encourage you to join the CREDITS’ protocol! It is super speedy and efficient in its operational work.
